Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Instructor Train the Trainer Course

Mental Health America of Georgia is partnering with the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities to offer Georgians a Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Instructor Train the Trainer Course facilitated by the National Council for Behavioral Health. This will be a VIRTUAL 3-day training between Wednesday, October 28, 2020 – Friday, October 30, 2020.

Who should apply?

Dedicated individuals that are passionate about spreading mental health awareness education in their communities and ensure our adults may support our youth and young people, especially during a crisis. ind the eligibility for participants to apply and become a YMHFA Instructor Candidate, training expectations, and supporting documents to provide additional information for the training. What is required?

Attendees MUST participate in the training pre-work, full training days, and post work in order to become certified as a YMHFA Instructor.  Trainers must facilitate a minimum of three courses annually to maintain an active certification. If you cannot meet the following criteria and requirements at this time, then we ask that you refrain from applying for this training and recommend others that may have the availability and accessibility to support the community at this moment. Slots are very limited to maintain the fidelity of the training so you must complete the pre-screen application before submitting your full application to National Council.
